Back by popular demand, Spin Class is the beginner-friendly DJ workshop for women and non-binary friends who love vinyl and want to try their hand at the turntables. Whether you’re vinyl-curious, brushing up your DJ skills, or just looking for a fun, supportive crew, this is the place to be.

The night runs like this: the sign-up sheet goes out at 6:00, and you can reserve a 15-minute slot to get up on the decks. Bring five of your own records, and learn as you spin with DJ Shug and WXNA’s DJ Leanne Merritt guiding and teaching every step of the way. Everyone is welcome to hang, cheer, and soak up the vibes while participants take their turns.

Ever wanted to try your hand at writing a bro country hit without having to buy a truck or a pair of cut-off jeans? Now’s your chance.

The Bro Country Card Game is a party game where players compete to write the funniest lyrics imaginable. Each round pulls from real bro country hits (top-ten chart songs from 2008–2018), and players choose words to fill in the blanks to create the most ridiculous, clever, or chaotic version possible. Think Mad Libs meets Jackbox Party Pack, with a host who may or may not know what they’re doing keeping things moving.

Born into a military family that moved frequently, Michaela Anne first drew national attention with her 2014 debut Ease My Mind, praised by The New York Times for its “plain-spoken songs of romantic regret and small-town longing.” After a move from Brooklyn to Nashville, she followed with 2016’s Bright Lights and the Fame, earning comparisons in Rolling Stone to Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris. Her 2019 Yep Roc debut Desert Dove marked a true breakthrough, praised by outlets from Billboard and USA Today to Rolling Stone and NPR—who called its lead single “one of those moody, breathtaking, stop-you-in-your-tracks songs”—and landing her on major festival stages from Bonnaroo to XPoNential. She followed that up with her 2022 release, Oh To Be That Free Again equally acclaimed by press. Paper Magazine named the title track one of the best songs of the year, Holler Country called it "immaculately crafted" and Michaela received further invitations with appearances on NPR's Mountain Stage and World Cafe as well as festivals like Bonnaroo, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Sisters and Folks Fest. 

Her forthcoming album, These Are The Days, is the first full length album of her career she fully owns. No longer willing to be part of a system that denied her ownership of her work, Michaela recorded the album at her home studio—a backyard sanctuary hand-built by her husband, producer Aaron Shafer Haiss, and his father. It marks her debut release on her own label, Georgia June Records.

Join Nashville’s Northern Soul Club!

Northern Soul Club is all about the music, the movement, and the magic. Born in Northern England in the late 1960s, Northern Soul celebrated rare, fast-tempo American soul records, legendary dance moves, and a culture of devotion that turned club nights into all-night experiences. Today, the passion lives on, with a modern revival keeping the grooves alive and the dance floors packed.

Happening on the first Friday of every month, different DJs take over the turntables, spinning soul classics, deep cuts, and high-energy tracks that demand movement. We turn down the lights, clear the floor, and let the music do the rest. Come early. Stay late. Don’t stand still.

Guitarist Ben Rice brings his long-running jazz trio back to Vinyl Tap, joined by Anson Hohne and Patrick Atwater. The three have been playing together for nearly a decade, building the kind of chemistry that only comes from years of listening closely and playing often.

The Volcano Brothers: Monthly Waikiki Wednesday

Midweek never sounded this good. The Volcano Brothers bring 1930s and 40s Hawaiian music to life with hot jazz energy, steel guitars, and ukuleles. The lineup rotates among Nashville legends like Dave Jacques, Richard Bennett, Fats Kaplin, and Jim Hoke, making each show a rare and special experience.

Grab a daiquiri from the bar, settle in, and let Waikiki Wednesday melt the week away with swinging grooves from some of the city’s most remarkable players.

Sofia Goodman Jazz Jam is now a monthly gathering at Vinyl Tap—an open, high-vibe jazz jam led by one of Nashville’s most respected bandleaders.

Drummer, composer, and educator Sofia Goodman sets the tone alongside a stellar house trio, creating a supportive space for musicians to play, listen, and connect. Jazz standards are encouraged, as the jam is focused on musicians who want to explore this rich tradition that has shaped music and culture for over a century. Hello Honky Tonk is a reminder that we’re in Nashville, not on Broadway.

WXNA DJ Night is a monthly Vinyl Tap tradition, happening the last Friday of every month.

Each month, a rotating lineup of DJs from WXNA 101.5 FM takes over the turntables, digging deep and spinning across genres with the care, curiosity, and independence the station is known for. No algorithms. Just real people, real records, and real taste.

A portion of proceeds from the night is donated directly to WXNA, helping support Nashville’s community radio and the voices that keep it thriving.

Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance’s seventh album, The Wake, marks the completion of a decades-long journey defined by tireless soul-searching and life-altering revelation. The Wake brings Vance’s gritty vocals to a potent convergence of folk, soul, and Southern blues, and Vance will be hitting the Vinyl Tap stage on 3/13 to play some songs from the record. A Q&A and an album signing will follow the performance!
