This Thursday bring your holiday sweater and your drinking pants because we are crawling! Starting at 5 pm the folks from Bell’s and East Nashville Beer Works will be featuring their beer at 4 great East Side haunts. Each stop will have a little something special and we will have ENBW’s ‘Brut Willis’ brut IPA and ‘Cumberland Punch’ wheat ale. We will be tapping Bell’s Christmas Ale for the event and will have their Best Brown Ale on tap. Come hang!
Friends of Mine
The last Friends of Mine for the decade goes down tonight!
‘Going to see some friends of mine’ is a common refrain heard all over town when headed out to see shows. This is exactly that…a rotating cast of the Nashville music community playing for each other and you…FOR FREE!
This month we bring you another amazing lineup curated by Hannah and Caroline. This month our friends will be @whisperinry (Teddy and the Rough Riders), @allisonyoung.xo, @probably_curtis (@theragcoats), and as always @hannahdlynn.
It’s Happy Hour all night long so come hang!

This week,
Fresh from the press to your turntable!
It’s cold out there, campers, and we have some analog warmth for you to cozy up to this week. There is a heavy front of reissues sliding through with a mild dusting of new releases. It’s the perfect time of year to help new vinyl addicts in your life fill out their collection and we can help with that. Talk with us if you’re looking for something special before the holidays.
A standout for me this week is Brendon Benson’s One Mississippi. I bought a copy on CD at Be-Bop Music in Jackson, MS many moons ago. Released in 1996 in America and 1997 in Great Britain, this debut record showcased Brendon’s unique songwriting. As a member of the Raconteurs you can hear his influence on how the band write and play music. Jack Lawrence, of the Racontuers, once told me that Brendon was a big help to bands like The Greenhornes and White Stripes early in their careers. It stands to reason they would all later team up. Brendon’s a hell of a nice guy and his records are great so come grab one this week.
Speaking of the Racontuers, they have a new 7” single out this week so grab it for a stocking stuffer. This band is great live if you can catch them.
Heavy classics from Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, Bad Brains, and Eminem this week. John Legend is sounding very merry with a reissue of his A Legendary Christmas just in time for the holidays. We have some live records in the reissue section this week that peaked my attention. I’m not sure who the band Bongripper are but I can dig the name. Wink. Nod.
Last but not least it looks like we have more copies of Pearl Jam MTV Unplugged finding their way to us. Keep an eye on our social sites. It’s in our queue for the week and we will let you know when it’s in.
Hot wax, come and get it…

This week,
Fresh from the press to your turntable!
We wanted to take a minute and say thank you to everyone who came out last weekend for our 3rd Anniversary. The drinks flowed, stories regaled, and plaid-adorned patrons held a strong hang all weekend. Thank you all for the past 3 years!
We did take time to notice that many of you went home with stacks of records from the sales. It was great to see so many folks lined up out front before we opened to have first crack at the RSD releases. Well done everyone.
A bunch of you joined our 33 1/3 Club over the weekend and started getting money back on new vinyl purchases right away. It’s a great way to save some bucks heading into the holiday season on your healthy vinyl addiction.
We still have some of the special Black Friday RSD titles available, so come take a peak. If you took photos over the weekend please tag us @vinyltapnashville
We are hoping that you don’t have ‘vinyl wrist’ because there is new stuff hitting the shelves all December long. ‘Vinyl wrist’ is the hand numbing pain that goes along with searching through stack after stack for just the right record. Happy Hunting!

THIS WEEK!
Fresh from the press to your turntable.
Since we last spoke there is something I am dying to know, ‘how was everyone’s week of Fall’? That was a quick one and now straight to winter. Never fear because cold weather means hot toddies and rich stouts are soon to follow. It also means that RSD Black Friday 2019 is only a couple weeks away.
This week we have a ton of great re-issues and a smattering of new releases. I’m not sure if you noticed but country legend Garth Brooks is coming out with a box set. We thought we would see some of those come to the shop but alas, we were mistaken. You’ll have to go to our competitors Wal-Mart and Cracker Barrel to pick one up. Here’s a few of the stand outs we will receive this week along with the full list. I’m sure Wal-Mart and Craker Barrel will not be carrying a single one of these gems. Come on Garth!
I’m always a fan to hear what Will Oldham is going to release. No matter which of the many handles he has released music under in the past. His latest Bonnie “Prince” Billy record entitled I Made a Place comes out on vinyl this week and you should check this out along with some of his other work. One of my favorite covers is Johnny Cash covering Oldham’s I See a Darkness. It’s a well lived in take on a great song.
Lady Antebellum crashes to shore this with another mega album simply entitled Ocean. I’m sure it’ll be engulfing so grab a copy now. I hear they are nice folks.
Speaking of nice we have some great live recordings of some country greats. New West Records releases live recordings of Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash this week. They were all recorded live in Austin and you should add them to the collection.
The used and sale sections are full and waiting for you some come see us this weekend.
