A NEW SOUND IN STEEL!
Wednesday, August 19, Vinyl Tap presents an evening of modern musical marvels, featuring the Electrosteel: part pedal steel, part synthesizer, and altogether something else.
Invented by Jeff Snyder, also known as Owen Lake, the Electrosteel takes its cues from the familiar levers and mechanics of the pedal steel guitar and puts them to work in the electronic age.
SEE IT! HEAR IT! TRY IT YOURSELF!
From 6–7 PM, Jeff will be on hand at Vinyl Tap for an Electrosteel demonstration and hands-on showcase. Come meet the inventor and take this curious new machine for a spin.
Then, at 7:30 PM, it’s Owen Lake and the Tragic Loves, performing songs from their brand-new album Bury Deep My Heart, with Brett Parnell putting the Electrosteel through its paces.
And at 9 PM, pedal steel master Luke Schneider takes the controls, trading honky-tonk for the cosmos with a set of dreamy, ambient steel soundscapes.
ONE NIGHT! TWO VISIONS OF THE STEEL GUITAR! A MUSICAL MACHINE YOU HAVE TO SEE TO BELIEVE!
